Bridal show: Not just for brides.

Wedding planning, gift registries, dresses for the bride and the bridal party were just a few of the products and services offered by vendors at last year’s bridal show. More than 40 vendors have signed up to participate at this year’s Wedding Faire Extraordinaire.
With more than 40 vendors on hand, the 2013 Wedding Faire Extraordinaire won’t be just for brides.

“There’s something there for everybody, whether you’re having a wedding in your family or not,” said Bonnie Hayes, marketing director at Pony Village Mall.
“Even if you’re not going to be having a wedding, it’s fun to come and look and see all the different photographers, florists and cake makers you can use for other events such as graduations and family events.”

Most vendors will be local. Stephanie Jensen, owner of Painted Zebra in North Bend, said her table will display dresses for all the women in the bridal party, as well as jewelry and accessories. Although Painted Zebra isn’t a full-service bridal shop, Jensen wants brides to know the shop offers a good selection of dresses that can be special-ordered.In addition to local vendors, some are coming from outside the area. One is glass artist Tony Evers, who said he had so much fun at Pony Village’s Christmas show, he decided to see what he could offer brides. He’s bringing glass cake toppers.

Along with examples of his glasswork, Evers will bring his whole torch set to demonstrate his craft. A glassmaker for 43 years, Evers is based in Medford. But he’ll remain at the mall through Valentine’s Day so brides can pick up their special orders.
Hayes says the event lets small businesses get their names and products out to the community.“We are a big promoter of small business” she said.
